Georgia Individual & Family Plans
Open Access Plans are traditional PPOs with the option of using a doctor or specialized health care professional in-network or out-of-network. In-network providers offer greater savings for plan members. These plans are ideal for families with children who could benefit from regular doctor’s office visits, or individuals who want to be safe in case they end up needing a hospital stay or surgical procedure performed. These plans do not require any referrals to see a specialist. Plan deductibles range from $1,000 to $10,000, and in-network coinsurance is either 20% or 0% after deductible.
Open Access Value Plans are available for a lower monthly premium than Open Access Plans, in exchange for higher deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums. If you and your family do not expect to need many doctor’s office visits, this may be a good plan option. With Open Access Value Plans, the same network of providers as Open Access Plans is accessible. These plans come in a range of deductible from $1,000 to $5,000 for individuals, and cover 75% your in-network major medical costs after deductible.
Health Savings Plans are high deductible health plans, qualified for use with an optional health savings account. You can use an HSA to pay for certain medical expenses with tax-advantaged funds. These plans are a good option to get more out of your plan for your money if you can predict your annual health care costs. Members of Health Savings Plans have access to the same network of doctors, specialists and hospitals as the Open Access Plans. Deductible options are $2,500, $3,500, or $5,000.
Dental coverage is also offered in Georgia as a PPO plan, which can be used in combination with any health plan listed above. Cigna dental insurance provides coverage on a wide variety of services including check-ups, X-rays, fillings, and root canals. Waiting periods apply for some types of care.
